Aileen Hamilton teaches people how to make jewellery from a log cabin in her Reigate back garden.
She runs various classes, from silversmithing to working gold to making your own wedding ring, with small workshops of no more than 6 students meaning plenty of one-on-one attention. There are evening classes to fit around working people, as well as morning and lunchtime options, with workshops lasting from 2 hours to a full day. Or, if you’re serious about expanding your jewellery making skills, you can book a series of sessions to really show off your metal.
The range of people attending the classes is remarkable, from kids to retired folk and everyone in between, in a setting that’s unique, bright and airy in the biggest log cabin Aileen could find. There are even chickens in the garden for an extra dose of whimsy.
Aileen has been making jewellery for almost 40 years, beginning as a student, then teaching at Sutton College for many years and even running a craft gallery. With all that experience behind her, you can be sure your education is in very good hands.
