After an award-winning career in London that included championing teams for the world’s largest Audi showroom, architect Christian Froggatt returned to his Surrey roots to set up his own practice. “My wife and I both grew up in Dorking so it was an easy decision for us to move back to the area, particularly for the countryside.”
With a mission to “contribute in ensuring the quality of new housing”, Christian set up CF Architects in 2014 along with Felix Lewis (the pair met while working together at Wilkinson Eyre Architects). Alongside their ever-growing team, the two directors design residential and commercial projects, the scale of which is continually increasing.
Bringing people together is a major driver for the firm (‘cf’ is an abbreviation of ‘confer’) and later this year construction begins on a Redhill project that personifies that passion. “We’ve been working on a new, inclusive sports facility for the YMCA that will showcase Paralympic sports such as Boccia and Goalball. We can’t wait to see the benefits it will bring to the local community.”
With the company’s desire to “ensure that a building inspires its users”, Redhill and Reigate can consider themselves lucky to have such good sports on the team.
