Sara Gordon, based at Nutfield Priory, is a qualified practitioner in Physiotherapy, Pilates and Acupuncture and uses a bespoke mix of the three in helping her patients heal and regain strength.
After a full assessment, diagnosis and prognosis, Sara puts together a treatment plan. “This always involves ‘homework’ for the patient”, she says. “Either exercises or changes to their posture, workplace or home life. I use Pilates exercises every day with my patients, while acupuncture is used to help with pain.”
Sara also teaches Pilates in Horley on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and has benefited personally from having excellent core strength – for her new hobbies of ballroom dancing and horse riding.
In fact, there seems to be a horsey theme. When asked about a memorable patient’s transformation she recalls: “A 50 year old lady who’d had two hip replacements and couldn’t get in or out of the bath, or get up off the floor and only walked short distances with pain. She’s now walking miles and even fulfilling her lifetime ambition of riding a horse!”
So with Sara on your side, you’ve already cleared your first hurdle back to strength.
